  9. Begin at V 2.3 because in V 2.2 the guide was fixed for ATO
  10. translations. From this point, the history is this single file.
  11. All older informations are inside the VersCheck Guides.

  13. Not every listed version was also released! But I uploaded them
  14. to my homepage or give them away for testing. The new version
  15. is only to define the exactly stand of programming to every
  16. time.
  17. It happens also that a new release come out and the program has
  18. the same version. In this cases any other part of the archive
  19. is changed. Most the MUIclassGuide or the HandlerGuide.

  26. V 2.20 / 23.02.1999 - Bugfix in ENV-config for version command. If
  27.                       line end with a newline, the external program
  28.                       start forces a guru. Changes needed for full
  29.                       compatibility with VersCheck V3 (coming soon).
  30. V 2.19 / 15.12.1999 - The search for version numbers work's now nearly
  31.                       perfect. Rewritten!

  54. V 2.17 / 06.12.1999 - Version compare 100 percent rewritten to handle
  55.                       the versions in a new (hopefull better) way.
  56.                       Now I've done, what I never want. A 'hope so'
  57.                       analysis. The problem: The compare can't work
  58.                       right, if both version fields in a class exists,
  59.                       but only one is correct updated. OK, there are
  60.                       a lot of way's to fix but no good one. And, NOW
  61.                       I know, why DVC has a requester "please inform
  62.                       the author!". AND THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO!
  63.                       VersCheck has no requester, but VersCheck has
  64.                       a messy (disabled in the past, reactivated).
  65.                       Bevor this message comes, the version compare
  66.                       analyse and work also with bad versions, if the
  67.                       program MEANS to know the right version.
  68.                       If the versions are bad, you see a '*' before
  69.                       '-> version is', if analysed or not. Check this
  70.                       entry's, the result of check could be wrong!
  71.                     - better find versionnumber in a string with more
  72.                       than one numerical part. In the past, the
  73.                       search for the versionnumber start at left and
  74.                       end's after the first number or group of
  75.                       numbers. REMEMBER the RKRM say's:
  76.                       'name_of_class ver.rev (dd.tt.jjjj) comments'
  77.                       This was a problem in the past:
  78.                       "Personal 68060 Blit Library 2.1 (30.01.97)"
  79.                       the version found = 68060
  80.                       The new function search for the first ( and
  81.                       then looks for a version in front of it. If
  82.                       not found, the old functions is used. In my
  83.                       tests the results are very good.

  85. V 2.16 / 03.12.1999 - A problem in the classes list appears, if the
  86.                       version is ok, the second version old and the
  87.                       ClassList has an entry like :name 1.1 (10/10/99)
  88.                       To fix that problem, I cut such strings after
  89.                       the version where nothing should be.

  97.                       classes test the '.mcp' are not compared.

  102. V 2.14a/ 24.11.1999 - Translations for suomi arrived and all new files
  103.                       included, installer updated

  105. V 2.14 / 23.11.1999 - AFD-COPYRIGHT included
  106.                     - Install-script:
  107.                       - translation of two added languages for france
  108.                         installation.
  109.                       - add AFD-COPYRIGHT in fileslist
  110.                     - Using Check_Your_System, selection "filerequester"
  111.                       do not work (illegal option). The reason, a bug in
  112.                       the getargs-parser. Changing -0l CLASS as last
  113.                       argument or put any char after l help. Like this,
  114.                       for example: -0ll CLASS.
  115.                       The problem in getargs is cleared. Also a lot of
  116.                       semilar problems without effect in the moment.
  117.                       The biggest problem is, that the functions was
  118.                       correct (now dobble checked).
  119.                     - Because trouble with the call of requester from
  120.                       reqtools.library the ppc-program versions has
  121.                       requestor=OFF as default. So I changed this now
  122.                       to asl.library (seems working). Only the HTML-
  123.                       ASK-request is not changed (coming soon).
  124.                     - The MUIClasses.Guide and the compare for the
  125.                       MUI classes know's now a faked version and the
  126.                       patched classes show'n a warning.

  129. V 2.13 / 20.11.1999 - This history is now hopefull better in layout
  130.                       und usage.
  131.                     - OS3.5 dosn't opened the catalog files. One
  132.                       problem was found in the locale initialisation,
  133.                       the other in the catalog source. Both corrected.
  134.                     - Add france language in the installerscript and
  135.                       also france guide and catalog to the archive.
  136.                     - mmu.library is now an official release. Look in
  137.                       the AmiNet, if you want or need more
  138.                       information.
  139.                     - A lot of bugs and problems in the install script
  140.                       corrected (nearly new written).
  141.                       All needed functions for automatic update in the
  142.                       future now included and tested.
  143.                     - New OS3.5 compatible icons.
  144.                     - Version of WB was wrong before (show's the kick
  145.                       version). First seen after install OS 3.5 here.
  146.                     - WARNING! Installation with InstallerNG v1.4
  147.                       crashed (guru). Will be cleared soon.
  148.                       The problem is, VersCheck writes the settings
  149.                       of the installations to disk and use them at
  150.                       later updates (you must nothing change!). But
  151.                       this causes an internal typeconfikt in the
  152.                       InstallerNG. Test with the original OS3.5
  153.                       and also the OS3.1/OS3.0 Installer.works fine.
  154.                     - Added new file xxxInfo to each list. The first
  155.                       reason ist, to make possible to identify the
  156.                       list and the version of the list. The second
  157.                       reason is, to show this info to the user.
  158.                       Important is: First line must be a AmigaOS
  159.                       like $VER line. The others are free.
  160.                     - New argument -! to show the xxxInfo as a
  161.                       requester.
  162.                     - New tooltypes:
  163.                       DISPLAYINFO show the xxxInfo file as requester.

  167. V 2.12 / 17.11.1999 - Never offizial released, only for an ATO
  168.                       translators to check that all things working.
  169.                     - Fixed a problem with the Check_Your_System
  170.                       script. Since OS 3.5 the start by IconX crashes.
  171.                       Now the stack is set in the icon, not only in
  172.                       the script.
  173.                     - Because most 68k versions crashed after start
  174.                       I recompiled all. I think, one of the object
  175.                       files was bad.

  181. V 2.11 / 02.11.1999 - A mistake in the english locale and the internal
  182.                       english text corrected.
  183.                     - A lot of problems in the english and the german
  184.                       guides corrected.
  185.                     - Add new feature xxxDirs for multiple directory
  186.                       scan. This feature will be used if a xxxDirs file
  187.                       exists and the feature -0l or -1 upto -5 use
  188.                       a '*' in the argument, e.g. -1* or -0l* and so
  189.                       on. So the program can scan more as one directory
  190.                       at one programstart.
  191.                     - Add requestorsON/OFF for multi dir scan. Now the
  192.                       check for files can using a list of possible
  193.                       directory's. If the exists, they are scanned. If
  194.                       not, the entry is skipped, without error messages
  195.                       or "please insert volume ..." requester.
  196.                     - Various bugfixes.
  197.                     - New function make an internal selftest at start.
  198.                       If CPU and/or FPU at the system not match with
  199.                       the compiled code, VersCheck print out an error
  200.                       and stop immediatly before the CPU causes a trap
